Classic Coat Design with a dippled hemline

This design can be created in a wide variety of fibers. The welted vertical stripes softly hug the body for a flowing and graceful enhancement of the female form. The coat shown won the 1998 Niche Award. It was made from handspun angora and silk. The other versions shown are in chenille and Angora but I have also used wool and mohair. All versions are reversible, giving the contrast fiber an opportunity to dominate in color and texture.

Collage

Collage is a wonderful way to dress up a knitted coat. The collage in this one shows some of the flora and fauna around my summer studio in British Columbia. You can choose a scene or motif as well as your colors and coat shape.

Cocoon

Cocoon coats are a retro look from the early 1900's. Mocha is my most recent version. It is knitted with two strands of yarn-a wool and an eyelash and some soft chenille for the front closure, back piece and fringe.

Vertical Yoke

A vertical yoke smils and adds length to the body so this design is very flattering. Shown is "Silver Odyssey" made from a big eyelash yard and Italian chenille. I bought up the front hemline and added fringe. The buttons are handmade and the hat completes the ensemble.
